Trip to Carlise to purchase the Tagwagon

It’s been a brilliant two weeks – the Tagwagon is up and running and there’s a big buzz in the Bold Creative studio as we set up for the first few workshops.

Greg (our Creative Director) and myself spent 3 hours negotiating price for the ’64 VW split screen bus in a cold car park in Carlisle. Our silky smooth London media patter was lost on the Scotsman who settled for £200 off the advertised price. We didn’t really have a choice as the paint job was booked in two days time and the first workshop for less than a week.

The journey home was eventful!

Next stage was the spray job and some fixes on the body work – our senior designer Becca Wiseman took on the relay driving the Wagon to Tilbury. She looked pretty confident for a 22 year old driving a 44 year old bus – it turns out she races 80 year old Bugattis at the weekends!

Greg mocked up some colour options for me and left on holiday, so the final decision was down to me. After discussing the finer details of blackboard paints with ICI I went for cream gloss over matt black, the idea is that young people can write with chalk on the black and with whiteboard markers on the cream.

Our Tagwagon now has a permanent home thanks to the kind people at the Classic Car Club http://www.classiccarclub.co.uk
